Fan Meeting Memories

Hello there and welcome back to my once-a-week post hehe...

Let's talk about my first-ever fan meeting experience. Why first-ever? Well, I have never fangirled this hard until Yoon Si Yoon. When I first knew of this fan meeting happening live and online, I was truly ecstatic - really ecstatic! I'd get to see him live albeit on screen and will be seeing him again talk about stuff and more stuff but it is his point of view on things that I am really excited about.

Anyways, I downloaded the hellolive app then waited for the online ticket sale to open, purchased the ticket then waited patiently for the day to arrive. As any avid fangirl would do, I covered all social media sites for updates of the incoming fan meet including the announcements from his agency down to the hellolive app and other sources - the fans!

His agency announced that there will be 4 meeting events occurring for the fan meet. These are Event 1: Guess Who; Event 2: Deep Talk Q&A; Event 3: Play Back; and Event 4: Radio Talk.

Two days before the fan meeting, I was super anxious as I had some serious incident at work and had to resolve it as quickly as I can so I can make sure that my Saturday (the day of the event) will be smooth - no hitches from anything. It went smoothly indeed and I was able to free myself on D-day! Yay!

D-Day came and I was there online 15 minutes before the start of the program. Imagine, I would have been late as I almost forgot the time difference between Dubai and South Korea! It would have been a disaster for me - thankfully not!

Chatbox of the online fan meet was busy with words of encouragement and outpouring of love from the fans to our favorite actor. It was very overwhelming and warm to know that he had this much support from a lot of people, from locals to international fans!

The time has come for the MC to finally introduce our actor on stage and everyone was so happy seeing him appear singing. We finally get to hear his singing voice again. I actually heard internal screams everywhere, based on my internal scream as well upon seeing him live online - how much more for those that were really there?

He was a bit shy at first and has expressed his gratefulness to the fans that were continually waiting for him and supported him through all the years. He was also apologetic for not being able to show himself as much as he would like to due to the pandemic as well as not being able to reciprocate the love as much as he has received.

Events unfolded one by one and he became comfortable eventually and was back to his fun, perky self. The 'Guess Me' part had me wishing I was there and the one who got the right answer to have his selfie on my mobile phone! One thing I picked up from this event was that he is not fond of hand creams - they are messy and sticky. He said he really doesn't like it but has to use it, as advised by his staff.

The next part was the deep talk Q&A where the questions were on post-it notes and he got to answer them swiftly. Most of it was basic things such as his likes, mood, activities, etc. My takeaway on this part was an activity he did with his grandma when she came over to his house and he made pizza for her - his grandma's favorite!

The last event was the Radio Talk where fans sent in their stories and have him give them his thoughts on it. It was really amazing to see and hear him give advice to people on their concerns about their lives and how they should live them. The bits of advice were heartwarming and straight to the point. I remember him saying that "how can it be like this, I am not even a very old actor yet", although I didn't catch the drift haha. Sorry. My takeaway from this event was his advice on not forgetting to have time alone for yourself. Not losing ourselves to our daily troubles. He recommended traveling alone to enjoy places on your own and maybe along the journey finding your lost self and throw away your sense of duty. He was rooting for Eastern Europe then, should I go there too? haha...

Like all things beautiful, the fan meeting was ending on a very good note, he again thanked his fans for the unending support and asked to continue supporting all his projects. He mentioned doing a movie (we all know is the upcoming "Birth", him starring as Father Kim Dae Gun) and a drama, is this the weekend drama offered to him? I have no clue as of yet, but what I know is that my fangirling life episode will continue as long as Yoon Si Yoon is there.

Before the fan meeting ended, he did a lot of photo poses to the delight of his fans and he was so cute, gestures and all! Right after, a groupfie with all the fans present and we couldn't envy more! As a thank you, he sang his song, "Tell Me" which he specifically wrote for his fans. Isn't that sweet and thoughtful? Throughout the whole duration of the fan meeting, you can feel his sincerity and warmth - he exudes kindness and cuteness (even when he is very manly!).

Thankfully, the fan meeting had an AI translation tool from the hellolive app that we get to understand the messages in the chatbox and the gist of what was said the entire duration of the event.

Overall, I had fun as everyone did live and online and my timeline in all social media apps is abuzz with Yoon Si Yoon posts for a whole week, seems like all of us couldn't get enough of it and would like to relive those moments for the longest we can.
