A Tale of Two Hyun Jaes: A Fan’s Perspective

Hòla! Too soon? Hahaha…

I think I just have to vent off from working at home on my off days. My brain is on hyperdrive. I didn’t even get to watch the 20th episode of “It’s Beautiful Now” yet. Will get on it when my attention’s free.

This might be too early to define Yoon Si Yoon’s latest Hyun Jae character but let’s see if my presumptions are what is, from my perspective. In retrospect, I have always put the first Hyun Jae character above all else, well, apart from Baek Yi Hyun, but that’s for another day. 😉

As i was introduced to Yoon Si Yoon’s refreshing acting and magnificence via “The Best Hit / Hit The Top”, Yoo Hyun Jae will always be my go to comfort character. This Hyun Jae have the right amount of sass, wit and charm being a 90s idol. Imagine being transported years forward, the portrayal of the character that was constantly at awe and confused - innocence and naivety was clearly shown here. The character was hilarious and his quips were gold. This was well executed and smoothly transitioned. Who could forget Yoon Si Yoon’s visuals in this drama? The photos are just some of it and there’s tons of them. This Hyun Jae has all the right feels - light, warm, focused, inquisitive and family-oriented.

Moving forward to the latest Hyun Jae, the character at first seems to be cold, aloof and focused. Although he is a softy when it comes to his family - the good hearted bickers between him and his brothers are a reflection of a real close-knit family. His cool and funny platonic relationship with his colleague is also a refreshing thing. As the drama progresses, we see him opening up and we get to understand his reasons for being so caught up on his previous heartaches. Relatable as most career-oriented people tend to focus on work to keep emotions at bay or altogether drown them, forgetting to give themselves time to really pay attention to life’s mundaneness.  This Hyun Jae is a mix of independent, reliable, cute, funny and sexy persona that we are now looking forward to weekly. This is just scratching the surface and I think there is more to him to see soon. 

Both Hyun Jae’s are a complete opposite but similar in some ways but both the characters are so lovable to the point of swooning and reeling over!

On to “It’s Beautiful Now” wagon

Hey! I’m back. Quite long, huh? Onto the quarter of Yoon Si Yoon’s latest drama, It’s Beautiful Now.  It’s now on its 20th episode and it has gotten so much exciting with the twists now starting to come along.  I am not going to spoil you on anything but geez, Si Yoon and Da Bin’s chemistry is sizzling! Well, they both played their roles breezily. Hyun Jae’s as charming, cute and sexy in as fast as a blink of an eye.  The plot has already thickened and the dynamics of each character is well blended in telling of the story and are totally relatable. Those of us who are in large families can certainly affirm the tightness and conflicts of a close-knit family. I am so looking forward to how all the relationships will play out and what lessons can be had in the end. Yoon Si Yoon Musings

My fascination with Yoon Si Yoon started during the pandemic, ca, end of 2020. I know, I am too late in discovering this amazing guy but hey, better late than never! I was surfing through Netflix and came across a thumbnail of the series with him (didn't know him yet) and Lee Se Young.  To be honest, I just scrolled past it a number of times and was only really forced to try watching it because of Cha Eun Woo. A bit curious about the story, I continued watching when he showed up and piqued my interest. To cut it short, I was caught unaware, disarmed by his charm and acting chops then eventually his wits and personality - done for! I scoured all his dramas, variety, guestings, ads, interviews, radio shows, movies, hosting, documentaries, even his discography- you name it, have probably seen or heard them.
